Save the Spinal Cord
Researchers led by James Grau, professor, Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences, College of Liberal Arts, are looking for ways to better protect the spinal cord following a traumatic injury. For example, they are studying the hazardous effects of internal bleeding and the potential benefits of opioids. This new knowledge could change the way patients are treated in the emergency room as well as on the battlefield. Watch video
