Congratulations to Steve Maren, who has been named as a Regents Professor of Texas A&M University. This distinction recognizes sustained exemplary contributions to the university and/or the State of Texas. His research on the neurobiology of learning and memory, especially fear-laden memories, has made numerous foundational and extraordinary contributions to the field, influencing research across the globe. He has been continuously funded by NIH for over 25 years. His impact can be seen through several avenues, including service to the department, university, and his field, his teaching and mentoring, and his recognition as an ISI highly cited scientist (top 1%) in neuroscience and behavior.
