New Tenure Track ECON Faculty

The Department of Economics is very excited to welcome five new tenure track faculty beginning in Fall 2024. Our new colleagues:

Yunus Abyas

Yunus is coming to us from Stanford University where he studied microeconomic theory with a focus on strategic communication, social learning and networks. He will be an Assistant Professor.

 

Emily Cook

Emily Cook

Emily is coming to Texas A&M from Tulane University and will be joining us as an Assistant Professor. Her research focuses on the causes and consequences of colleges’ decisions in the context of US higher education.

 

Jorge Garcia

Jorge will be joining us from Clemson University as an Associate Professor. He is an applied micro-economist using tools of labor, public, and development economics to investigate the economic fundamentals driving the efficiency and effectiveness of social policies that tackle poverty in the US and developing countries.

 

Manu Navjeevan

Manu is coming to us from UCLA where his research interests are primarily in high-dimensional econometrics and causal inference. He will be an Assistant Professor.

 

Anna Ziff

Anna will be joining us from Duke University as an Assistant Professor. Her research and teaching interests include Public Economics, Labor Economics, Applied Econometrics and Urban Economics.
