Welcome to Campus!

Welcome psychology majors and minors! Now that the semester is starting to pick up, it is important to be aware of the many academic resources that are available to you on campus. Utilizing these resources will ensure that you have a successful semester!

First and foremost, go to office hours! Professors and TAs can break down material and make it easier to digest so that you feel more confident about the content. Professors are not as scary as you might think, so do not be afraid to ask questions in class and during office hours. (However, you should always refer to your syllabus first!)

Secondly, take advantage of the many academic resources on campus such as the University Writing Center, Academic Success Center, and personal tutors. There are two writing centers located in Evans Library and Business Library and Collaboration Commons (previously known as West Campus Library). The Academic Success Center is located on the ninth floor of Rudder Tower (to make an appointment with them, visit the following link: http://asc.tamu.edu/Appointments). You can find a list of tutors for the psychology department here on the department’s website.

Lastly, visit your advisors! The psychology advisors are very helpful with regards to your degree plan and future goals. They are located in Milner 205 and take walk-ins from 8-11:30 am. You can schedule an appointment with the advisors using the following link: https://liberalarts.tamu.edu/psychology/undergraduate/ugadvising/

From the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences, we sincerely hope that you have a successful semester. BTHO Fall 2019!

Thank you,
