Prospective Students

Prospective Freshmen

Applications from Freshmen applying to A&M as first time in college are reviewed by the Office of Admissions, which makes admissions decisions. The Department of Communication has no role in that process. However, we are happy to talk with you and to answer your questions about what we study in Communication and in Telecommunication Media Studies by e-mail, or by phone (979-862-6968) or in person.

**Due to COVID-19, we will not be available for in-person prospective student meetings.  However, please fill out the form to schedule a prospective student meeting via video chat or phone.**

Prospective Transfer Students

Applications from transfer students coming to A&M from another university or from a community college are reviewed if they meet these requirements:

  1. Minimum of 24 completed graded hours earned after the high school years.
  2. Maximum 75 total hours (without excessive withdrawals)
  3. Minimum 3.0 GPR overall

Prospective Change of Major Students

Are you a current TAMU or TAMUG undergraduate student and want to change your major?  The new University-wide, Change of Major application is now available on Howdy.  The Change of Curriculum requirements are:

  1. Minimum of 2.75 GPR at Texas A&M University
  2. Maximum of 75 hours from all sources
