Prospective Students

Prospective Freshmen

Applications from Freshmen applying to A&M as first time in college are reviewed by the Office of Admissions, which makes admissions decisions. The Department of Communication has no role in that process. However, we are happy to talk with you and to answer your questions about what we study in Communication, Telecommunication Media Studies, and Journalism by e-mail, or by phone (979-862-6968) or Zoom. Please schedule an appointment at least one week in advance.

Prospective Transfer Students

Applications from transfer students coming to A&M from another university or from a community college are reviewed if they meet these requirements:

  1. Minimum of 24 completed graded hours earned after the high school years.
  2. Maximum 75 total hours (without excessive withdrawals)
  3. Minimum 3.0 GPR overall

Go to Admissions to start to process.  We are delighted to talk with you about what we study, however we do not play a role in the admissions process. The decision makers include the Office of Admissions and the College of Liberal Arts.  For questions, please call us at 979-862-6968 or e-mail us. Or if you prefer to meet with us via Zoom, please schedule an appointment at least one week in advance.
