Howdy Y’all! My name is Anna Simank and I am so excited to finally start my Masters Program! I was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas so I love going to the beach and eating delicious Mexican food. I have an older sister who graduated from SMU as well as an older brother who graduated from Texas A&M….one of them made the better decision ;). I attended TCU for my undergraduate degree where I double majored in Communications & Psychology. I love to exercise and my favorite form would have to be Crossfit; however, I just completed my first half marathon in March this year so I am also a big fan of running. As far as research interests, my ultimate dream would be to study the Communication of comedy. How and why people use humor in their everyday lives and the effect it has on different situations. I love all things comedy so this is my main area of interest but am excited to be introduced to new areas of communication over the next two years. I am most looking forward to befriending all my peers and learning from faculty members. A fun fact about myself is that I have skydived and love to ski!
